Detroit Rock City!

Jeff and I both took off the longest time from work we ever have (woohoo 3 days) and went to Michigan to visit grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins :)

We unfortunately live on the other side of America from most of my extended family who live in Detroit. Jeff and I made the trip up there 2 1/2 years ago, which is just not often enough to see family.

Wednesday we flew in (me, Jeff, Mom, Emily) and soaked up all the visiting time we could get with my Grandpa and Grandma Hodges. My aunt Betsy (my dad's sister) came over my 2 cousins and we had a great night. (Did I mention it was still hot!)

Thursday we went on a boat tour of the Detroit river with my Grandma Hodges. It was very informative as we went up the US side and back down the Canadian side. We all unanimously decided the Canadian side was much prettier!
Thursday night we went out to eat with my aunt Lynn (my mom's sister). Yum! Almond chicken that I had been craving for at least 5 years! Then we went back to the Hodges house for a good ole game of Rummikub :)

Friday we went out to lunch with the Zoltowski side of my family. It was great to see my other grandparents, we just wish it could have been for longer!

Friday night my mom, Jeff, and Emily had a little trick up their sleeves. They bought us tickets to the Emimen & JayZ concert, oh my! (Pretty sure I don't know how to spell either of those correctly.) They were all so excited and I was just along for the ride. It was only 1 of 4 shows that they were doing and it was at the baseball park so it was HUGE! Overall it was a fun night and one I will never forget that is for sure!

Saturday my dearest cousin Alison and her fiance Berry came into town from Florida. I had not seen her since our wedding, so we were way over due! We went down to one of the nicest parks near my grandparents house and laughed about old memories! We had a big cook out that night with all the family, and it was just perfect :) Finally our last day there it got chilly, yeah!

Sunday we packed back up and headed back to Houston. Here is Jeff very excited about his new Tiger hat :)
We could not have asked for a better visit with all the family. We are blessed!
