Girl Trip to Detroit

All the stars aligned and 3 of the "Hodges" girl cousins got to go visit Detroit the same long weekend! Family time always multiplies in fun when there is more family :)

If you can look really close we are posed in the exact positions  in a picture that was taken at least 20 years ago!

Emily and I flew up there Thursday morning. We got to spend the afternoon with G&G H before heading to downtown Detroit to have dinner with Jennifer & Lindsay (our Dad's cousin's kids.) It was so great to visit with them because it had been over 5 years since I had seen Jennifer. We went to a trendy little resteraunt and got to see what 'city life' in downtown Detroit is :)

Friday Emily and I went a ran some errands for G&G H. I was on a mission to find them some new pill cases :) We found a really neat side walk sale going on in the 'Village' of Grosse Pointe so we shopped a little and got to sit down for a very overdue sister lunch! That afternoon we went and visited some dear family friends of the Hodges, the Burwells. It was great to be able to sit and visit with them :) Friday night we picked up pizza and watched the opening ceremony with G&G H.

Em and I ate way too much at Panera. Look we are outside without sweating!

I think Em was the only one who was able to stay awake for the end of the Opening Ceremony.
Saturday morning we got up and went with Grandma to a really neat farmer's market (it was better than what I am use to because they gave out samples!) By the time we got back Charlie had picked up Alison from the airport. It was a gorgeous day outside so we all went out and played some boccie ball. We convinced Grandpa to come outside and boy was he glad because he beat ALL of us in boccie ball! Saturday evening we went out to eat with the Zoltowski side of the family. It was great to see all of them and especially the newly weds, Mike and Erin. We then went back to G&G Z's house and watched home videos.

We quickly learned it was a lot harder than it looks

I wish I would have gotten my Grandma's green thumb!

Sunday we got up early and headed to Canada! It had been years since most of had visited the cottage. Have I ever mentioned that this is the most gorgeous, most relaxing, most heavenly place EVER! We shared old stories with the family and made new stories :) We went down to the beach, played bocci ball, went on a walk, visited the neighbors, and had a fabulous dinner!

Couldn't you look at that all day?

Mary has done an AMAZING job with the garden!

Us headed down the treacherous stairs to the beach

Sticking these leaves to our nose when we were little was a favorite past time

Monday Betsy and family came over for the day. We spent most of the day visiting in the backyard and in the kitchen getting dinner ready. My dad's cousin Jeff, his wife and son came over for dinner too! We had a great dinner and got to enjoy it sitting outside!

Love my G&G H!
Tuesday we had to head to the airport :( We will miss you our Michigan family, but we will be back!
