- Still take a bottle 3 times a day (4oz before each nap and 8oz at bedtime)

Eating:

I had big hesitation about taking him off the formula because we is such a picky eater and not interested in food. However I knew we couldn't/shouldn't drag it out any longer so around 13 months we transitioned to organic whole milk. He didn't care and handled the change like a champ! The next step was cutting back on their bottle feedings- since they were still use to getting one every 3 hours. The pedi said to make sure they were not eating more than 24oz a day which we were borderline on because he loved the milk. We slowly started offering 4oz bottle before each nap and an 8oz bottle before bed.  We found if we offered him milk with his meals he wouldn't eat his food at all. Meal time still stumps me with him.  Breakfast always consists of yogurt which he LOVES (and we have found full fat yogurt to try to pudge him up) and dry Cheerios. Lunch and dinner can range from a couple peanut butter crackers, a couple chicken nuggets, maybe some Mac and cheese, spaghetti, veggie sticks (which are really just potatoe chips), baby food sweet potatoe, Apple juice or fruit snacks. However he will like one one day and hate it the next. He is stubborn with a capital S when it comes to trying anything such as fruits or veggies. I mean the kid won't even let anything near his mouth if he doesn't approve of it. Even if it is something sweet it takes us practically holding his hands down to shove a bite in his mouth for him to realize he likes it and wants to eat more of it.  The only other way he will sometimes cave in and eat something is if Mallory is shoveling it in and then he decides he will give it a shot. Luckily he doesn't mind the sweet potatoes and squash of the puréed baby food so that is the ONLY way he get veggies in this kid. He is a rock star with his water sippy cup and sometimes likes to drink the whole cup and spit it back out sip by sip- he is a crazy little boy! He also LOVES to throw his food on the ground for Mila- luckily Mila has learned to dodge the sippy cups because she has gotten nailed in the head plenty of times. We have also started putting Miralax into his nighttime bottle and that has seemed to relieve quite a bit of uncomfortableness for him- poor guy!

Sleeping:

Miles finally has cues now for when he is sleepy and it is adorable because he holds his ear- In fact he will hold anyone's ear who is near him if he is that sleepy.  He is getting really good at sleeping through the night and probably does with no problem 5/7 nights a week. He would probably sleep better but he has a sister who likes to holler so we decided to move him into another bedroom in the pack n play. We don't have a favorite child but Miles sleeps MUCH better in a pack n play than Mallory and I personally prefer the room we moved him to because it is so dark :) However he continues to be my early morning riser getting up around 6:30. As groggy as I am at 6:30 his precious little face just melts my heart over and over again when I go to get him out of his crib. He is also able to pull himself up in his crib to let us know he really really wants out of these :) He still sleeps with his pacifier and usually has an indention around his mouth from sucking on it so hard all night long. One of the hardest milestones we reached for me is that he no longer wears footsie pjs :( He was beginning to slip and slide trying to walk and pull up and at the same time growiing out of his footie pjs so we started putting him in shorts and shirts. He looks SO grown up! He continues to be a very short napper as well taking around 2 one hour naps a day. I can only get him to take a longer nap if I am laying down with him which I don't oppose :)

Playtime:
Summer time with this little man has been amazing! He is SO happy now that he can crawl/scoot! You give him something to push and he is extra happy! He also has no qualms about crawling/scooting on rough surfaces- again must be a boy thing! We have really enjoyed getting to play in the water this year. Most of the time it is in our blow up pool in the back yard because I can't safely take them both to the pool. When we play in the back yard pool there is a very good chance they will be naked because dealing with getting them in and out of swimsuits is just too much work! Whenever Jeff is available we take them to the big neighborhood pool and he can't get enough of being carried around in the water by one of us or floating around in his float. However his favorite is 'JUMPING' from the edge of the pool. Ok, I might be using the term 'jumping' a little liberally but we sit him on the side of the pool and count to three and he jumps into our arms. It is quite possibility the biggest smile I have ever seen on his face as soon as you sit him on the side because he knows what is coming :) He continues to burn rubber in his little walker and loves to run around the backyard while someone is holding on to each hand. Miles is a rock star at the Itsy Bitsy spider. He knows exactly what button to press in the game room to make the song start and he immediately follows it with the correct hand motions! This little man ROCKS my world!
