Easter 2015

The Easter festivities kicked off the weekend before Easter (unfortunately I worked) however that didn't stop Super Dad from taking the kids to a neighborhood Easter egg celebration! I get these precious texts at work of them dressed in matching outfits that Daddy found in their closet- first pat on the back for Jeff. Second I didn't have baskets bought for them so Jeff hooked them up with target plastic bags- second pat on the back for Jeff. Third he loaded them up and successfully took them to the neighborhood park by himself for the hunt- third pat on the back for Jeff. Several neighborhood moms came up to me the next day to tell me how impressed they were with Jeff :) They funny thing was I didn't even think twice about him taking them because he always does AMAZING things like that with them :)

The next weekend started off our Easter celebration with neighbors on Saturday. We got together with two other families (a total of 7 children) in a backyard and ate a big lunch while watching the kids hunts for Easter eggs. Miles & Mallory are quite a bit younger than the rest of the kids but they didn't let that stop them! Of course Miles wouldn't put his truck down the whole time! Miles was LOVED the egg hunt and zeroed in on every egg and didn't rest until each one was in his basket. Mallory on the other hand could have cared less and put on egg in her basket and just went back to frolicking around the yard. LOVE seeing the individual personalities develop :)

After a fun morning/afternoon hunting with the neighbor friends we put them down for a late nap only for them to both wake up with fevers of 103 :( Miles couldn't stop shivering his fever was so high. So we stripped them down, gave them a cool bath and started Tylenol. It was a long sleepless night for all of us and needless to say our church and family plans for Easter we had to cancel because they continued to run a fever all Sunday- it broke our hearts to see them so miserable. My sweet friend Lauren knew I was so upset about the babies missing Easter so we recreated it later that week and got some great pictures :)

I never want to forget this unconventional Easter but pray for a healthy one next year :) We had so so much fun hiding eggs around the house and watching them find it we might do it all year round!
