Easter 2016

I don't know how but every holiday with the kids gets more and more fun!

This year the neighborhood Easter celebration was on a weekend I didn't work so we got to go as a family. The kids enjoyed the egg hunt and Miles filled his bucket to the brim and then some! Mallory wanted to get her face painted so we waited in line for eternity- but she said it was worth it. She was a beautiful kitty cat!!

Mimi & Non were in town a couple weeks before Easter so they got to open baskets from them!

I was not planning on doing the 'Easter Bunny' this year but Jeff said he wanted to so I made a last minute stop to the dollar store after work and the 'Bunny' got to filling the baskets. Jeff tried to hype them up for it telling them the Easter Bunny was coming and the poor kids were so confused and kept asking if they could pet and hold the bunny.

Easter morning they were extra confused when we told them the bunny came and they kept saying 'No he didn't!' They loved their baskets and Mallory was over the moon excited about her new Barbie and Miles wanted to go outside immediately to use his rake.

We then headed to Lake Conroe to celebrate Easter with the Hodges/Koslan family! We had a great weather and went on a boat ride! The kids talked about the boat the whole drive there but once we actually got on they were a little unsure. Miles hung out on my lap the whole time and Mallory hung out on Grandma Hodges' lap. We then went back to the lake house for some of Grandpa Hodges' special burgers and hot dogs! Grandma Hodges had eggs set up for the kids on the lawn and Miles wouldn't let go of the money he got! Silly boy! They also got a ring pop in their eggs and they were amazed to discover something like a pacifier that tasted like candy. We took their bikes and went for a nice family walk and the kids wowed everyone with their motorcross skills :) Everything was wonderful and I even shocked us all by bringing my first homemade cheesecake!
