Eating
Mallory is still my 'better' eater. Her favorite summer foods are definetly watermelon, strawberries and POPSICLES! She also has discovered the wonderful world of Sprite and Lemonade on special occassions :) Otherwise we still don't have very defined meals :( She is really good at trying a couple bites of whatever we are eating but then she is done.
Sleeping
We threw off the wonderful napping and nighttime routine because the kiddos learned how to climb out of the cribs so we took off the front rail and haven't slept since then! Oh and we moved them into the same room! Bedtime currently consists of watching an episode of Daniel Tiger Neighborhood and then we go lay down in their bedroom- usually Mom lays in Miles bed with him and Dad holds Mallory's hand as they fall asleep. Then sometime in the middle of the night they come into our room and are not suppose to wake us up and they are suppose to go lay on their cots- which only happens maybe 50% of the time. Mallory talks in her sleep so she is always lets out at least a couple yells every night and then she usually wakes up demanding milk which we quickly give have to give into because then it wakes Miles up. Then she asks to get into our bed probably about 6 times every night and we have to tell her no and threaten to spank her if she doesn't get back on her cot- which leads to more crying and us having to cave in. Nap time is usually even worse! We go and lay them in their bed but they both want their hands held so that leads to the first problem. So then I usually sit in the rocker and play relaxing music on my phone while the fall asleep. However Mallory comes up with 1001 reasons why she has to get out of her bed.... needs to check on Mila...needs to close the door..... needs to get her babydoll- the girl has perfected the art of stalling. Then I make myself a pallet on the floor in their room and within 30 minutes of them falling asleep in their beds they are snuggled up next to my pallet on the floor and then we are all awake. So I usually end up breaking all routine and let them come and lay in our bed with me to take a nap because that is the only way I can assure they are going to sleep for at least an hour!
Playtime
This little girl's imagination has taken off and it is ADORABLE!!!!! Of course her favorite thing is still anything pretending to do with her babydolls but cooking in her kitchen comes in a close second. When she is well rested she is becoming very independent- walking right into church nursery, going down to neighbors house to play with them, walking right into ballet, and she would willingly go spend the night with any of our neighbors anytime. She also is getting girlier and girlier. If I ask her what her favorite anything is... the answer is princess 'fill in the blank.' She also makes sure her brother does everything right 100% of the time- she LOVES to show him how to do things. One of her favorites is showing him how to shake is 'pee pee' after he goes pee. She is phenomenal at potty training and honestly I don't think has one accident. She loves her 'princess' underwear and I never have to ask her if she has to go to the bathroom because she is always SO good at telling me. However this little girl does like to go to the bathroom in the grass- which we can thank her daddy for that. She isn't huge into swimming and prefers to lay out like her daddy does- but she has become SO much more confident with her floaties on and will just hang out in the pool with them. Whenever we have a guest she is amazing at making them feel special. She asks them to hold her the whole time, sit by her, eat wit her, and just in general turns into that person's shadow :) The lack of sleeping can cause her to be the biggest drama queen I have ever seen- but when she is done throwing a fit she says "Baby Mallory all better!" She loves pretending she is a baby too- she likes to play patty-cake, be tickled, drink a pretend bottle, crawl and say 'Goo-goo gah-gah'. Her memory is AMAZING! I can ask her anytime of day where ANY of her or Miles toys, shoes or milk cups might be scattered among our house and she knows EXACTLY where they are! I am over the moon in love with this princess!!
