Easter 2017

We had a great Easter this year and it is getting more special as the kids are able to understand the reason for Easter!

The weekend before Easter our neighborhood had an Easter festival. There was face painting, a train ride (which Miles rode by himself!) and of course an Easter egg hunt! Miles came home with at least half the eggs. Mallory had an unfortunate run with an ant pile which slowed her down a bit.

Saturday (of Easter weekend) we went to the Hodges' lake house in Conroe. The neighborhood had a Easter egg hunt which Miles dominated! Mallory could take or leave the egg hunting- but it is SERIOUS business for Miles! He also has had quite a bit of practice as we have been hiding them around our house for probably the past month :) We then took all the eggs back to the house so they could open their 'loot' and open their baskets from G&G Hodges. We went out for a ride on the boat, had a great dinner, blew lots of bubbles, played hide and go seek and just had a splendid time!

Sunday we took the kiddos to church so we could celebrate the real reason for the season :) Then we spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning and cooking a ham because we hosted a neighborhood Easter potluck. It was a great turn out- a little hot- but lots and lots of fun! (P.S. Miles was in a TERRIBLE mood Easter morning because of our busy day before- so he wouldn't pose for a picture before or after church- but we wore a shirt with a monster truck on it that said "The Destroyer")

We also got the kids Easter baskets this year which was a lot of fun! It is SO hard to keep from spoiling them when we just cherish and LOVE them so much! They were a little concerned though how the Easter bunny was going to get in their house to deliver the basket.
