Texas Renaissance Festival

The somewhat cooler weather has rolled in and we decided it was a great age for the kids to try the Renaissance festival for the first time! I grew up going there and always thought it was magical :) We invited my parents to meet us and we had a great time! The kids are made an especially big deal of by all the 'characters' I am guessing because they are SO cute! Lots of fairies gave Mallory flowers and several pirates gave Miles gold coins. They secretly LOVED the attention!

We started it off with an official face paint- it is a MUST! They both looked adorable!!! We then walked around looking at 'princesses' and 'pirates.' We stopped a whip show that I thought was really cool- but the kiddos said it was too loud. Grandma Hodges decided each of the kids needed a treat so she bought Miles a wooden sword and BOY was he happy! We then stopped at the official 'Maze' and the kids finished it and rang the bell!! After that it was time for pizza in the Italian village- which they actually ate!! They really wanted to play some games so we found a fishing game they could play! Then Grandma Hodges bought Mallory her flower crown- which she looked just adorable in!!! We then got some dippin dots and watched Jeff's request of jousting! It was a great time and the kids have already asked to go back!

Mallory's favorite part- holding Grandma's hand

She sat SO still

She looked too grown up with eye make up on

Of course he got painted by a pirate
