The kids were SO excited for our yearly trip to Galveston with the Hodges family! Miles packed 5 days in advance (on his own) and packed a night light :) They both packed their own suitcases with everything I told them they needed plus some of their baby dolls- it was adorable!
We got their around 3:00 on Thursday and headed straight to the beach because there was some bad weather that was suppose to be coming in. The waves were HUGE and they scared off Mallory but Miles said the bigger the better! We found a great place that was under a store on stilts so we were in the shade the whole time. We played in the sand a lot! That evening everyone showed up at the vacation house so we had dinner and we went back to the beach as the sun was going down to fly Miles' kite and take a walk. It was a BEAUTIFUL night on the beach!! Then we all came back and swam until the adults were too tired to take care of the kids and then we called it quits.
The next morning (Friday) we packed up (which took a long time for our crew) and headed down to the beach. Jeff was too excited about how big the waves were and went and bought 2 boogie boards. Miles LOVED it! Jeff wanted to go off and do his own this but Miles just wanted to keep doing it again and again! Mallory was still a little freaked out by the beach so wouldn't let me leave her side with out a lot of screaming. We then came home and all took naps! After naps we went out to dinner and ate some good sea food! Then we rented bicycles and went riding up and down the sea wall- it was SO fun and the kids LOVED it!!! Then we road our bikes to get some ice cream and then followed it up with some more swimming in the pool!
Saturday we packed up the crew again and hit the beach up again! We missed Aunt Eree because she had to go back to work. Miles boogie boarded till he could not handle it anymore! It was a great morning at the beach! Then we all went back and napped- the sun really zapped it out of us! Then after naps we went and rode the ferry! It was a fun little adventure and we got to see dolphins, water and lots of birds! Then we came back to the house and put in some more time in the pool! When it started getting dark we took the twins out to a beach to look for crabs and we caught some! It was a fun thing to do- but hard to stay awake :) The next morning we all got up and cleaned up and headed out! It was another great beach trip! Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Hodges!
