Tuesday morning we went on a Mangroove Boat tour. No one else showed up for our scheduled tour time so we had our own personal tour! Jeff, Edgar (our tour guide), & I became good friends!
The mangrooves were just breath taking! (That might be because I have always wanted to be a marine biologist.)

My cute husband who wore his 'fishing' gear for the ride.

The first animal we saw was a baby crocodile :)

This is Jesus Christ lizard because it can walk on water. We saw ton of these! Cute little guys huh?

He is definitely a relative of 'Larry' the iguana who lived at our house.

We could be buzzing through the water and Edgar would see something out of the corner of his eye. We would turn the boat around and he would find something like this snake! He offered to let us touch it we got so close.

Finally, my trip was a success :) We saw monkeys! Lots and lots of monkeys! They would come down to our boat because they thought we had food. Jeff actually fed a couple of them. They were even cuter in person that I imagined!

At the beginning of the tour Edgar told us he offers $20 to anyone who can find the rare "Silky Anteater," which is the smallest anteater in the world. It weighs less than a pound! Well Edgar our tour guide found one! He said it was the first time he had seen one in years :) Cute little guy!

After the tour Edgar took us to an authentic lunch at a local restaurant. It was AMAZING and I regret not getting pictures. However I did spend most of the lunch wondering if there was alcohol in my lemonade, because it tasted funny! They also brewed coffee in front of us with a weird sock looking things and boiling water. It was really neat sitting down and having a conversation with Edgar because I could ask him anything and everything I wanted to know about Costa Rica. Our topics ranged from if they pay income tax, to public schooling, to herbal remedies they use. I asked him if on the way home he would take us by one of the fruit stands and explain to us what all the native fruits were. He was the best!

We came home and swam for a while until it started thundering and Jeff pointed out we were the highest house on the hill, so we should probably get out!
The rest of the afternoon was our only rainy day, and they had 100's of movies in the house so we had a movie marathon!
