Mazz Madness!: Mallory- Month 7

Milestones:

• She can sit on her own like a rockstar!

• Mallory celebrated her first Christmas (see Christmas post)

• Grabs and plays with toys :)

• She laughs a lot!

• Celebrated her first New Years Eve (well kinda)

• Still wearing size 2 diapers

• Mallory is wearing still mainly 6 month clothes

• Officially declared prettiest little girl in the whole entire world- by her mom :)

Eating:

Mallory is still eating around 3-4 oz every 3 hours, with an occasional 5 ozs in the middle of the night. Her new thing while taking her bottle is holding her hand out in front of her and she turns her wrist and watches it. It is the most ADORABLE thing watching her realize this hand is connected to her body. She has for the most part giving up burping after being fed. She is not a huge fan of baby food. In fact I can say without a doubt this princess does not like fruit. If you put anything somewhat sweet into her mouth she puckers her face and makes her whole body do a little shiver like she just had a bite of a lemon. It is a little dramatic but SO stinking cute. She will eat any vegetable you put in her mouth but still with not much enthusiasm. We are giving her baby food 1-2X a day. She looks so grown up sitting in her high chair!

Sleeping:

This little lady continues to love her naps- smart smart lady! She gives very big cues when she is sleepy and if you put her in her swing with a blanket she will pass out pretty quick. However if you miss that magic sleepy window you get a cranky little girl who fights the sleep. During the night we started giving her a little blanket to sleep with and she LOVES it. She grabs it and rolls on to her side. She however wakes up several times during the night when she isn't due for a feeding and is unable to fall back asleep. Her dad and I are both wrapped around her little finger so we hop out of bed and go put a pacifier in her mouth. She has done a couple 6 hour stretches but it doesn't feel like that because we have to get up several times in between to be on pacifier duty. She has stopped chatting after her feeding though and is much easier to put back down in the middle of the night, yeah! We will get there someday- but right now we just enjoy every minute with her- even in the middle of the night.

Playtime:

The world of playtime has changed now that I have two sitting babies. It also helps she got spoiled with a bunch of toys for Christmas :) She loves any toy she can fit in her mouth! She is getting really good at learning how to hit certain buttons on toys knowing they make noise. You can see her little brain processing everything right before your eyes. It is INCREDIBLE! We put up a jumper for her that hangs from the door frame and she really liked that after she figured it out. If she isn't the mood to jump we put her in it and just push her like it is a swing! She also got her first babydoll for Christmas which she is pretty fond of- melts my heart! She LOVES going on walks around the neighborhood- which thankfully is one of my favorite past times! The whole walk though she looks back every couple feet to make sure I am still pushing her :) She is getting a little attached to her mommy these days and needs to make sure I am in eye sight at all time. I am OK with her wanting me! She is getting a little better at tummy time but quickly has learned how to roll onto her back to get her out of tummy time- sneaky little lady. I know I have mentioned before but it truly is amazing how much this girl relaxes when you sing to her! You can calm her down from any tantrum with a couple verses of "Row Row Row Your Boat." However the key is instead of saying "Merily, Merily, Merily, Merily- life is but a dream," you have to sing "Mallory, Mallory, Mallory, Mallory- life is but a dream." She is so much fun to play with- I miss her when we put her to bed for the night! She is my best Gal Pal!
