Miles- Month 7

Milestones:

• Sat up on own for first time!!!

• He celebrated his first Christmas and New Years (see Christmas post)

• Eating lots of different types of baby food

• Still wearing size 2 diapers

• He is still wearing 3-6 month clothes but has graduated on to just 6 month clothing too

• Everyday he alternates his hair between mo-hawk, the professional and the 'butt-cut'

Stands up and locks his knees when you put him on his feet

Eating:

Our favorite little man is eating a LITTLE more at each feeding now. I would say between 3-4 oz of formula every 3 hours. Sometimes if he goes for a really long stretch in the middle of the night (not often) he will eat 5 oz. He is getting a little more adventurous when it comes to playing/holding his bottle while we are feeding him. He most always has his little thumb in his mouth during the whole feeding and can pull the bottle in and out during the feeding. He is our non pickey eater when it comes to baby food (Yeah we got at least one!) He cracks us up because he doesn't open his mouth very wide- just like a smile that is a smile enough sliver to shove a spoon in. He tells you when he is full and doesn't want anymore by blowing bubbles and the food goes everywhere. We also started feeding him in his high chair. He looks so grown up but always has a little big of a 'gangster' lean going on.  He hasn't gagged in a while with the baby food- so we are making progress! He also LOVES his sippy cup. He isn't quite sure how to get water out of it but he knows exactly where it goes. Miles also likes trying to drink from our cups. He does pretty good when we hold the cup to his mouth minus the massive amount of backwash. He is still on the reflux medicine and we are feeding him solid food 1-2X per day.

Sleeping:

A friend of ours gave the babies these soft blankets and we started putting in the crib with them for naps and bedtime and it is a magical blanket. Miles is precious because he bunches it up in his hands and then roles over on his side and stays like that for the night. He has had a couple 5 hours stretches but it was a hard month because he had a really really bad cough. So he would cough a lot during the night and wake himself up :( We had vicks on his feet, a vicks plug in going on in the room and a humidifier which seemed to bring a little relief. As far as napping goes Miles is my 'anti-nap' child, but I adore him anyways hahaha! He can skip a daytime nap all together but he isn't in a fowl mood! I just don't have the heart to lay him in his crib and make him cry while Mal is napping so he helps me do chores around the house!

Playtime:

One night I went to bed with two babies and the next morning I woke up with two sitting infants! They grew up SO much this month! It is amazing to see their personalities emerging and them starting to interact a little more with each other. Papa Non and Mimi worked with him a LOT on his sitting up while they were here and he has caught on so quick! He is still wobbly so we always have blankets/pillows all around him. He LOVES all the toys he got for Christmas. His favorite is probably the stacking rings and his bear Scout. The stacking rings are the ones we all had when we are little and he loves chewing on them. His bear Scout is programmed to sing songs and say his name. His little feet can now touch the floor in some of our excersaucers/bouncers so he is having a great time figuring those out to. His favorite thing continues to be rubbing any toy on his gums to make a 'flossing' noise and banging anything in his hand against his pacifier. He also gets really excited whenever the cat or dog come near him which is SO precious! This little boy is just growing like a weed! But he will still let you k now when he isn't happy with his little man grunts :)
