Milestones:
• She sings along and bobs her head when you sign a song to her
• Mallory is a professional at rolling over
• Mal finally eats puffs!
• Miles and Mal took a big kid bath together
• Still wearing size 2 diapers
• She can hold her self up standing while holding on to something
• My new favorite- she CLAPS! (and boy is she proud of herself)
• Tries to steal EVERY toy her brother is playing with
• She has started putting her self on her tummy in the middle of the night
Eating:
Eating is still not Miss Mallory's favorite past time. She is consistently takes 5 bottles during the day about 3-4 oz each and can take up to 2 bottles in the middle of the night. The challenge now is getting her to sit still when she is eating. If anyone else is in the room she will crane her neck to watch their every movement. This girl must know what is going on at all times! She has widen her taste in some big people food but is still not excited about baby food. If it is pureed or a smooth texture you can almost bet that she is going to wave her arms so you can't get the spoon to her, she will shake her head, or she will blow with her lips closed. However if you give her a cracker or a piece of big people food she can hold on to she will very efficiently place just the corner in her mouth and gum it until it gets soft enough. Cracks me up she prefers to eat this way when she doesn't have any teeth! It is funny she will only eat vegetables, she makes crazy faces when you feed her fruits- but she will eat anything that is sweet! Her current best friend is her sippy cup- which works out great to keep her occupied while I am feeding brother. I am not sure how much of the water actually makes it into her belly because her clothes are usually soaking wet- but it makes her happy!
Sleeping:
This past month was Mallory's turn to be the better sleeper hahaha! Now that she has learned how to roll on her to tummy during the night she sleeps very soundly and usually wakes up with a good amount of drool on her face :) She will hang out in her crib for about 5 to 10 minutes after she wakes up in the morning just perched up on her arms looking around the room and talking to herself. She catches me every time I come in to check on her! With Mallory we are getting pretty consistent of 2 thirty minute to one hour long naps a day- usually one around 11:00 and one around 2:00. I have thrown any sleep training book I have out the window because I love cat naping with my babies. I usually let one lay on me or with me for their morning nap and the other one lay on me or with me for the afternoon nap. No wonder I don't get anything done- but I wouldn't have it any other way! Her bed time seems to keep creeping up on us. Around 7:45- 8:00 she officially starts melting down. We usually begin baths around 7:00 and you better hope you have her out of the tub before her melt down starts! Unlike her brother she is very calm during the night when she wakes up for her feeding. She will patiently lay in her crib while I change brother's diaper and then hers. I can tell this little lady is going to love sleep like her mom some day she just needs her brother to be quiet so she can :) Have I mentioned Mallory in onesie pajamas is quite possibly the cutest thing ever?? I am going to make her wear them until she is at least 16!
Playtime:
Mallory Jean is the happiest little girl on the block! You can always count on her having the biggest smile on her face, talking with her sweet little voice, singing a little tune or bobbing her head. You can start singing most any song to her and she will rock her head back and forth and sing a long. Not sure where she got the musical genes but boy does she have them. Mally loves hanging out in her playroom however she insists someone stay in there with her or she is not a happy camper. You will never hear me complain about spending all day in the play room with her! Her new favorite toy is a baby drum. We worked with her a lot and she can now bang the hammer on it so it makes noise. It is SO precious!! However if she is anywhere near her brother and his toy that will be her toy of choice and boy she is not shy about taking it.She has also become a professional clapper. You can either ask her to 'clap' or you can say 'yay' and she will clap. The grin on her face while she is clapping is something I hope I never forget. Mallory has perfected the art of sitting. There is no more wobbling for this little lady. I like to say it is because she is so strong and not because the size of her booty :) We had to switch her to the big girl bath tub because she would sit up straight in her little baby bath tub. Now that she knows how to sit all she wants to do is sit- there is no reclining for this little lady! She loves sitting like a big girl in the bath tub but it makes her mama really nervous to watch her and Miles in the tub. Mallory has also decided that she LOVES being in public and having ALL eyes on her! As long as this little girl has a set of eyes on her she is happy. Whether is be the grocery store, a restaurant, or even neighbors stopping to say Hi- she LOVES the attention! I always say that is why she gets cranky with me when it is just us at home because my eyes have to be split between her and Miles. I don't know how every month keeps getting better and better!
