Miles is pretty consistent on the eating side of things. He is a champ at eating his 5 bottles during the day- hooray! He still has not changed his mind about texture. If you feed him a spoonful of blueberry yogurt and there is the tiniest piece of blueberry in it- you can bet a million dollars that he will consume all of the yogurt but polietly return the pice of blueberry to you haha! I compare him to the "Princess and the Pea" with his pickiness! If it is sweet like a milkshake, snowcone or ice cream this kid will eat it as fast as you can shovel it into his mouth! I sometimes get concerned he will get a brain freeze he eats it so fast- but I am happy anytime he wants to consume calories :) Our little man has got to figure out this eating thing sometime so his sister doesn't get too much bigger than him! We did have two minor set back with his eating 1) He got a tummy bug 2) He got a bad respiratory bug. The tummy bug luckily was only one day of throwing up but that whole day all we fed him was bottles of water :( He had a really hard time eating anything during his bad respiratory bug because his nose was so stuffed. The ironic thing was that the nurse brought him a juice box while we were in the ER and asked me if he could drink through a straw- I told her he had never tried. Well he figured it out on the first try and drank the whole thing! So 1,000 ER bill to find out that Miles could use a straw!
Sleeping:
Well the fat lady has finally sang- well just a couple times that is. Both of my kids slept through the night on the same night! I will never forget April 15th 2014- the glorious first night! We didn't announce it as sleeping through the night because we knew it was most likely a fluke- and of course it was haha! Miles has also decided he is an extra early riser- we are talking 6:15! I try to tell myself it is more precious time I get to spend with him :) That pushes their early nap to around 9:30 and their afternoon nap around 1:30. I have officially done everything the sleep training books say not to do- and they spend their whole nap in my arms while I rock in the rocker. I don't get a lot done during the day but I wouldn't take that time back snuggling with my babies for anything! The second biggest surprise after him sleeping through the night was the morning I went in their and he was sitting up! He had never done that during the day- so I assume he was on his stomach and pushed himself up to sitting- but that little magician will never share his tricks! He also spent several nights in OKC and one night in a hotel in Ponca City. He did great sleeping in the pack n play- what a trooper!
Playtime:
I will say this again Miles is ALL boy! He has started playing with a little mini van we have by running it back and forth - how he knows that is what a car does I have no idea! Mallory isn't interested in the van at all haha! He also fearless! In particular water does not make him nervous at all. We have always know he was good with water because when you wash his hair in the bath tub he doesn't have a problem with water pouring down his face. While we were in OKC we got to go swimming at the hotel pool. It wasn't your ordinary hotel pool- it was a little kid's dream pool. Well Miles went down a slide, stood under a fountain and did nothing phased him. He showed his cousin Mark that although he might be small he is fearless :) The weather has been getting nicer so I have started taking them in the yard to get fresh air. He will do whatever it takes to reach off of the blanket to grab the dirt and the grass- again ALL boy! Miles is officially on the MOVE! It is a funky scoot/crawl and it is adorable! He tucks his left leg underneath him and uses his right leg to pull him forward. The world is his oyster now that he is on the move! My FAVORITE thing that Miles does is belly laugh at his sister! She doesn't have to be doing anything in particular- he just laughs. I never ever want to forget his precious laugh! Miles has also learned how to dance and by dance I mean head bang- I guess that is all boy too! His favorite past time these days is running around in his walker in the garage. I move the cars out and him and his sister play bumper cars with their walkers. He was moving only backwards for quite a while but has figured out how to move forward and turn really well now. He also loves walking around holding on to our hands. It is precious!!! I can already tell he is going to be Mr. Independent because he gets so frustrated that he can't walk by himself. It is hard to tell if he is going to skip crawling all together because he seems like like walking so much. Miles has also taken up a strong interest in MJ our cat. He squeals like a little pig when MJ comes into the same room as us and he grunts until I move him so he can touch MJ. Again he is all boy- in that he doesn't know the meaning of gentle- he only knows how to take fist fulls of hair out. Thankfully we have a very patient cat! This little boy is TOO much fun and I look forward to all the boy things he teaches me :)
