Eating:
I didn't know someone could induce vomitting, gagging or dry heaving as well as this kid does. He will be sitting there eating his food fine for 5 minutes and then out of no where he decides he doesn't like it anymore. He then forces you to get out every granule left in his mouth (usually with a napkin) and if you don't do it well enough he will stick his fingers in his mouth and throw up. This wouldn't be such a crisis but this kid needs every calorie he eats to go towards growing! The good news is he drinks lots and lots of milk and yogurt drinks. His main staples of food are cheerios, chips, crackers, mac n cheese, fruit snacks and nuts. I would say 97% of foods he won't even try so he doesn't even know if he would like it and that is including desserts!
Sleeping:
Miles is still my CHAMP sleeper! He only wakes up maybe 1 or 2 times a month in the middle of the night and always for some weird reason like he lost his paci or his batteries in his 'tv' died. He sleeps on his belly curled up like a little tree frog on his pillow. He also has discovered how fun it is to have EVERY toy, stuffed animal and train he owns in bed with him- some nights I swear this is barely room for him! We still are on a late schedule so he goes to sleep around 10:00 every night and sleeps till 9:30 every morning :) We are going to have to tweak our schedule soon though as it gets darker earlier. We always have family lay in mom and dad's bed time before they go to bed reading books, watching TV and snuggling. If he doesn't fall asleep cuddling with us then Jeff just picks him up and puts him in his crib and he is fine with it! Like I said a CHAMP! He also goes down for his nap like a champ too! Occasionally he will throw a little fit and say "Lay Mommy bed" and I let him fall asleep in my bed snuggling with me since I know we won't get to do this forever.
Playtime:
I wish I could play with these kids every minute I am awake they are SO fun! It is so neat being able to do things now that they can tell me they want to do! Miles favorite of course is going to the Pet Store to walk around. He squeals the whole way there and walking in. Once we are in he knows where all the different animals are and he yells their names' and their noises they make. My little animal lover also loves and going and feeding the ducks and the turtles most mornings at the park. He LOVES breaking up the crackers and feeding himself plus the ducks :) My only problem is is that he wants to touch all the animals :) We also have some horses that live in the lot behind us now. If I let him he would sit all day at the fence watching them! It is incredible how we can be walking around in the house and he can spot a horse through all the trees in the backyard seriously out of no where. This summer has been so fun because the boy LOVES water. He loves being sprayed with the hose, running through the sprinkler, playing in the baby pool or going to the neighborhood pool. The neighborhood pool is so much fun because he wants to be IN the water now and not just playing on the steps. He jumps off the side for us to catch him in the water a million times and half the time we let him go under water and he LOVES it. He also loves to float on his back and to be held on his stomach so he can 'kick, kick, kick.' He also is a HOOT in the car these days because he picks out every motocycle, dump truck, tractor, garabage truck, black truck, school bus etc. It is great! We have the TV in the car but who needs that when you have outdoor entertainment. Miles has this love and admiration for Mallory that I adore and when he is in a good mood he is quick to give her his trains, share his food, or let her take her turn riding a scooter. However when this little man is in a bad mood he gets pretty cranky and hits his sister and then if you tell him to stop he wants to do it 10X more! My favorite thing he does is when I take something away from him and put it up high so he can't get it he goes around the house collecting different items that he tries standing on to see if he can reach it such as stepstool, bucket, cereal bowl, shoe box- I can only smile at his determination :) The boy would just be happy spending 24/7 outside and lucky for him he has every outside toy imaginable but his favorites are still playing in the dirt and picking up rocks- have I mentioned how much I LOVE having a boy!
