The Mazzolini family got together on a ranch house for the long weekend of Thanksgiving in Waco. Mimi did a great job finding this house- it was out on 100 acres, 5 bedrooms, had tons of room for the kids to play inside and had lots of farm animals for the kids to feed! We drove to Waco Wednesday afternoon after gymnastics and we some how fit everything into the truck (packed to the brim) and the mini van (packed to the brim as well!)
We warned everyone that our kids don't sleep very good so we isolated ourselves on one end of the house and it ended up being a VERY good thing because our first night there both the kids were up all night coughing :( We had 2 full beds in our room so Jeff and I each took a kid and had a cuddling partner. We woke up Thursday and they both seemed to feel a little better which was good because that was the only day we didn't have rain! It was still super cold outside but we went outside and fed the barn animals, rode the jeep/cars every where, and swung on the swing on the front porch. That night both of the kids came down with a fever- and I had a huge mom fail and didn't bring any tylenol :( So needless to say no sleep again that night and we had two miserable kids on our hands :(
Friday was the day to celebrate Thanksgiving and luckily the kids started feeling a little better. We got the food catered from a resteraunt near by and it was amazing. We had lots of visitors- Aunt Judy, Uncle Tom, Aunt Rhonda, Uncle Danny, Cousin Kristin and her girls! It was great visiting with everyone and of course playing board games! We also had a birthday celebration because it was Kristin's 40th birthday and Alexis' was turning 13!!
Saturday we celebrated Christmas (since we all wouldn't be together on Christmas) and it was wonderful! The boys all got tools and Mal got a some baby dolls with a stroller so they were playing all day long! Anna of course takes the prize of most thoughtful presents- Michael Jordan jumpsuit for Jeff and Justin Bieber shirt for me! We exchanged presents and the kids had a GREAT time! We also got some great pictures of Papa Non in Santa pjs :) Anna also had all sorts of fun activities set up for the kiddos- they played pin a tail on the donkey, painted Christmas ornaments and did watercolors. I also started the tradition with the Mazz family of Rummikub- ALWAYS good times!
Sunday we packed and cleaned and packed and cleaned and said our good-byes :( It was a GREAT trip and lots of fun memories were made!
