Eating
I don't know if there is a word for someone who eats strictly cheerios and chips but if so that is Miles. His eating habits have gotten worse over the last 2 months which I didn't even think was possible. Luckily every once in a while he decides he likes peanuts and shredded cheese but that is the only the only source of protein he gets besides his milk. He is stinker because he won't even try stuff! Anytime we drive past Chick-fila he says he wants chicken nuggets but without a doubt he takes one bite and is done. How this little boy has the amount of energy he has with the amount of calories he consumes is a mystery! We won't give up and know that one day he will be eating us out of house and home!
Sleeping
Miles heard that Mallory was not waking up in the middle of the night anymore so he decided it was his turn to cause us some sleepless nights. I use to not mind him in bed with us because he snuggled up on the pillow in between us and we never heard a peep out of him..... however now is a different story. This little snuggle bug wants to be laying on your pillow with your heads touching and nose to nose. I mean how can you not love that but at the same time it makes for a challenging night sleep. So Daddy finally layed down the law and said we weren't going to get him anymore if he cried in the middle of the night- well that is when Miles learned how to craw out of the crib hahaha! So it is a work in progress. We have made huge strides though in the bed time routine in that they don't fall asleep in bed with us anymore (which was getting them out of our bed on average around 10:30.) We start around 8:15 -8:30 and they both get a cup of milk and a container of cheerios. We all snuggle in mom and dad's bed and we watch and episode of Daniel Tiger's neighboorhood while drinking/snacking. After one episode Daddy goes and puts them in their crib and they fall asleep there with no fuss what so ever! It is a amazing!! When you lay Miles down in his bed he must have ALL of his trains next to his pillow, his monster truck on the other side, his kangaroo on his pillow with him (facing his TV), first his white blanket on him, then his gray blanket on him and then his fleece duck blanket on him. It is quite comical :) We always have to sneak back in there after he falls asleep to take off the blankets so he doesn't sweat too much. So the current routine is him going to bed around 9:00 and waking up around 7:30-8:00. We have been playing around with different nap times so they can go down anywhere between 11:30 and 1:00.
Playtime
Miles is our 'stinker- winker!' He knows just how to push his sisters' buttons and he does. We will be sitting down nicely coloring and he will take his marker and scribble all over the picture she has been working on- I guess he has to live up to the definition of little brother. He goes to time out quite a bit for hitting sister and the little toot hates to say that he is sorry. He has to stay in time out until he says sorry which isn't working out too well these days because he has figured out how to climb out of time out too. He has finally decided he likes watching TV- and when I say that I mean for about 15 minutes but we will take the little break throughs :) However the ONLY thing he wants to watch is real monster trucks. He knows almost all of them by name and he LOVES when they flip over and do big jumps! He wakes up asking to watch monster trucks and goes to bed wanting to watch monster trucks. We have a running joke about Miles and his 'entourage.' Where ever Miles goes he must take at least 4-5 of his trucks, toys or trains. He sleeps with them, takes them outside and takes them in the car with him and heaven forbid you forget one! Miles is a little more dependent on his paci than Mal but he is doing great with it just at night time and nap time (ignore the pictures below where he has it in his mouth!) When we first got the tramp for the first couple weeks his bouncing consisted of skipping but he has finally learned how to bounce with both feet at the same time! The cold rainy weather has been hard for this little boy because he LOVES being outside! He could drive his jeep around the front yard forever if we let him. His driving skills really are remarkable with how he handles the stearing and all the neighborhood girls like to ride with him. He has also figured out the balance bike and he FLIES! It lights his little face up that he is able to ride bikes with the big neighbor kids! He of course still loves everything about trucks, cars, planes and trains. He looks forward to the mailman and trash truck coming :) Miles is EVERYTHING I could have hoped and dreamed of for a little boy!
