Eating
Mallory is still not a quantity eater but she is at least a quality eater :) She likes fruits and veggies such as grapefruit, grapes, apples, carrots, cucumber, and oranges. She eats most everything that I cook for Jeff and I just in small small quantities. However if you feed her too big of bite you will end up with her spitting it out and her putting back in your hand. The girl also LOVES her milk! She drinks probably at least 3 cups a day! She still is not into breakfast at all and with them taking normal naps it is usually around 1 or 2 before she eats anything!
Sleeping
Well Jeff did it- he made her cry it out and she has slept AMAZING since then! It was a rough night (and I might have had to put ear plugs in) but it has been life changing! We also have a different bedtime routine which has changed things a lot! We lay down with them in our beds between 7:30 and 8:30 with their milk and a cup of cherrios. We read a book to them and then they snuggle with us while they watch one episode of Daniel Tiger Neighborhood. At the end of the episode Jeff takes them and puts them in their crib- awake!!! They both have a precious routine of kissing each other, then mom and dad and then Mila before Jeff takes them to bed. There have been some nights that they are so tired they tell Jeff they are 'Ready' half way through the TV show and Jeff takes them to their crib. It is unbelievable!!! She has also given up on her little TV hanging on her crib. She is like her mommy and enjoys her peace and quiet so even if you turn it on for her she will turn it off. So due to the evening routine switching to a lot earlier everything else is a lot earlier too. She wakes up around 7:30 but loves laying in her crib just playing with the strings on her bumper. She normally doesn't holler for us until 8:30. This also makes naps a lot earlier so they are both going down around sometime between 11 and noon. She then always takes a consistent good 2 hour nap :)
Playing
Mallory is such a lover! Depending on who we are around she requires that that person hold her and do everything with her- which everyone loves because it makes them feel so special :) I am not a huge fan of her habit because it takes her away from me hahaha! She is also in love with babies and baby dolls! She has a million of them but has become quite fond of "Big baby" and "Baby baby" They go everywhere with her and she nurtures and cares for them- feeding them, burping them, and rocking them. It is adorable! Also anytime a neighbor walks by with a baby she wants to go look at the baby! Mallory is a typical girl in that she is very opinonated and very bossy. She will tell you what she wants to wear, she will tell you what color cup she wants, she will tell you what shoes she wants, she will tell you what she wants to do and heaven forbid if you do something else! She is also still also plays the 'older' sister roll by telling brother what to do or making sure whatever he is doing is right. She has started to tattle a little like "Bro-Bro not sharing" "Bro-Bro touched me" and it usually isn't him doing anything wrong it is just him not doing it hte way she wants it done. She loves singing and little nursery rhymes. I hear her singing them to her babies all the time. She almost has the ABC's down perfectly too! She is still a HUGE fan of gymnastics and asks me every morning if she gets to go that day. It is incredible to see her bring home the skills she learns their and then she shows us on our trampoline at home! Potty training is in a transitional state right now. We ask them every day if they want to wear their underwear and if they want to we let them and if not we let them stay in their diaper. She has only had a couple of accidents but her favorite is when daddy takes her to pee in the grass! She is EXTREMELY independent and will walk down to any of the neighbors houses without us to play. She loves all of her neighbor friends even though they are all a good 4 years older than her! One day we acted like we were going to leave her at a neighbors house to spend the night and she told us 'bye' as we walked out the door- little stinker! She also is my VERY sensitive one. If you abruptly tell her No about something because it might hurt her she sits down on the ground and starts crying. You have to watch the 'tone' in which you tell her no. Her hand eye coordiation is incredible! She can throw and catch a ball and is a little speed demon on her bike! Jeff says she is going to be an amazing athlete :) During the cold months we took a lot of trips to the stores just to walk around and she is great because she will not touch anything without asking and she never asks to take anything home! She is and will forever be my little princess!!
