Michigan 2016

Summer time means its time to make our annual trip to Michigan to visit family :) Its always exciting to go visit and family (and escape the Texas heat!)

It's official my kids LOVE to fly! They love the airport, they love the buses, they love the planes, they love the people and they love everything in between. We flew out of College Station and they couldn't stop squealing in that small airport because they were so excited! All they could talk about was how fast the plane was going to go and how they wanted to wave at the pilot haha! The whole airport was listening to them ;)

Eating a sucker in the College Station airport

Mommy and her Baby Boy! (Sucker only for ear popping purposes of course- wink wink)

Miles and Miss Happy!

In Houston we picked up my Mom who came along to help us with the trip :) Mallory insisted on sitting with my mom and Miles wanted his mama- so that ended up poor Jeff sitting with a stranger haha. We didn't even get their Ipads out once for the flight because they were just so content looking out the windows!

Sweet girl!

My awesome flyer!

We got there pretty late Monday night so we got settled at Grandma Hodges house and went to bed around 11:15! The next morning we woke up and hung out with Grandma and showed her all of the kiddos cuteness! Then we went to Grosse Pointe Park- the greatest park ever!!! We went there every day and played on the playground, the splash pad, the beach, had a picnic, watched the boats, and played in the pool! That night Jeff grilled chicken fajitas for us and they were fabulous! Grandma was very impressed :)

It was in the 70s but we were still sweating

They had a HUGE sand pile on the beach

My brave little Miles just hops right on

Happy eaters!

The next day the kiddos got to help Miss Beth to pick tomatoes in the front yard- they LOVED it! Well besides the fact that neither of them wanted to eat them haha! We then spent the afternoon at the park and Grandma Hodges came to watch the kiddos play! That evening we went over the Grandma Zoltowski's house to hang out with her and Aunt Lynn. We visited with them for a while and then we went and met EVERYONE on the Zoltowski side at dinner- I think there were 18 of us! I had a huge fail and didn't get a group picture. The kids were on their best behavior though and entertaining everyone!

Who knew my kids were farmers?

Of course they fought over who got to pick what

She tried one...... she didn't like it

Cooking and enjoying the weather
(My grandma found this kitchen on the side of the road for free the week before we came)

Miles' favorite!!

Driveway hangout time with Grandma Z

They were awesome at the restaurant

Our last full day there we made it another park day! This time the kids got brave and decided they LOVED the splash pad! The weather was amazing (in fact we were almost a little cold) and we could have spent the WHOLE day there but we had lots of people coming over to visit us for a dinner party. The funniest thing to me was the kids playing on the huge sand pile. Miles had no fear about it and would go up and down without anyone's help but they second he got sand on his hands he was done! Mallory on the other hand had no qualms about getting dirty but she was very hesitant about doing it herself and wanted someone to hold her hand. That night around 15 people came over for dinner and we had a great time! The next morning came early but we had an uneventful trip home- so we were thankful!

The weather was AMAZING!

Miles loved the lake- Mallory not so much

They both conquered the 'mountain'

Michigan and family we LOVE you and wish you were closer!!
