The house was in Fredricksburg on a 243 acre high fence ranch with lots of unique animals including zebras! Inside the house was every horned animal God ever created mounted :( But it had an awesome pool- so it evened out :)
We checked in Thursday around 4:00 and immediately got in the pool- which was freezing but we had fun anyways :) After dinner we went and rode around the property in a Kaboda (which is an ATV.) The kids thought that was great! The rest of the night the kids just played hide and seek for at least an hour back at the house- it was adorable!
Friday morning (after a ride in the Kaboda- which we saw ZEBRAS!!) we went to Enchanted Rock to 'hike.' It was gorgeous and we all had a great time until Mallory fell and got a bloody knee :( So then her request was to go back to the car while everyone else hiked- the truth was she was exhausted from playing so hard the night before and wanted to take a nap in the car :) Jeff and Miles said they could have spent all day out there climbing on the rocks! We drove back to the house played in the pool for the rest of the afternoon! The kids have such a new sense of independence in the pool! We then did a craft of tie-dying shirts which was SO fun! You will get to see the finished products in Saturdays pictures. Friday night we went and tried out the fishing and the kids had a GREAT time!! Everyone caught at least 5 fish- well except for maybe me :) It was a beautiful night of family, friends, fellowship and fishing!
Saturday morning we got up and went for another ride in the Kaboda- we had turned into experts at finding the Zebras :) Then we painted ceramic mugs which was super fun and turned into super cute keepsakes! We then were all super tired from all the fun we had been having so we kinda hung around the house- playing games, doing puzzles, playing hide and go seek etc. Then once it was really hot outside we went back out to play in the pool! For dinner we drove into town and went a cute little restaurant called Tubby's. We ate some amazing food and the walked around the shops of downtown Fredricksburg for an hour and stopped at a cute ice cream parlor. It started pouring- so we decided to head home. By this time the kids had fallen asleep in the car just to wake up in time to play a couple hour long game of Monopooly Jr in which Mallory rocked!
The next morning we cleaned, packed up and hit the road. Great year and great memories!!
