When Mom is Away...

Summer time means a visit to Detroit to visit my grandmas! My cousin and I decided to leave the kiddos & hubbies at home and have a LONG overdue girls trip! It was GREAT!

I got such quality time in with my grandmas! It some how came up that my grandma Hodges had never had her toe nails painted before. So...... I made it my mission to make it happen. She put up quite a fight but on day 2 I finally wore her down. She was like a giddy little school girl after we got them done- she wanted to go shopping for new sandals to show off her toes (which is NOT like her at all!) No one in the nail salon could believe she is 96 years old! Her first comment was that the light pink I picked out was 'wild' looking :)

I didn't get a picture with my other grandma :( but we sat and talked for 4 hours!!! I learned things about her a my grandpa that I never knew! We then went out to dinner with all of the Zoltowskis and it was great!

My cousin Alison and I have GREAT memories of being in Detroit together- so we went down to our favorite Grosse Pointe Farms park for some much needed (and deserved) mommy relaxation time next to the pool. We are two peas in a pod and can pick up right where we left off even when we have been apart for years! We look more like sisters than either of my sisters :)

The second (and last night there) we had a Hodges dinner party (my grandma's specialty!) It was great to see everyone!

Jeff had the kids (and Mila) for a couple days while I was gone so he decided to go take them for a trip to see Anna & Nate's new house and be cowboys/cowgirls!  They got royal VIP treatment from their Aunt Anna. Miles and Jeff were like a kid in the candy store with the tractors.
