California- Day 2

Legoland was first on the agenda! I was hesitant because it was an hour drive but BOY was it worth it! It was also a special day because it was Grandpa Hodges' birthday! The kids were SO excited and ready for their vacation to officially start! We had to also try Chick Fila in California on our way!

The first ride that we came upon was a jungle tour! It was a long line (our only one of the day) and so I took Mal and Jeff took Miles. It was a fun little jeep ride where we got to see all sorts of animals made out of legos!

The second ride we came upon was a boat ride through Storybook Village. It was precious and had all the characters from our favorite childhood books and they were HUGE!

Then we came across a Lego playground area! The kids could have stayed here all day! It was fun to play on it and gave us adults a chance to sit down and prepare for the marathon in front of us!

Miles favorite part of the trip- he got to race in lego cars! He was an old pro after driving his jeep around the neighborhood since he was 2! Then he got to ride a helicopter with Mimi which was awesome! Then we stopped for lunch! Then we found another boat ride that the kiddos got to drive and they had a blast!

One of the coolest things was "Mini-town." It had replicas of every major city and they were incredible!! We could have spent a whole day walking around looking at those!

Then they had this awesome set up where you could build lego boats and race them down this water course. The kids LOVED this- especially Miles!! He could have spent all day doing that!

Then they had some indoor places were you could build lego cars and race them. This might have tied as Miles favorite activity for the day. Dad and Papa Non even got in on the action!

Then we took this huge big boat tour ride (that we all fit on) that took us around ALL the world of monumental spots! It was incredible!! Sad I didn't get more pictures!

I can't remember the theme of this ride- but it was interactive and fun for all of us! We rode on these cars through a big building and we each had a 'gun' that we shot at targets and it kepts our score. I don't mean to brag- but I beat everyone- even my husband :) There was no line when we finished the ride- so they let us go around again- it was GREAT!

Then we found a lego horse ride that the kids loved! They rode it multiple times and then right before it closed we found a HUGE treehouse that we ran around on and ate some apple fries!

Legoland was perfect! The lines were short- the rides were the perfect age group for the kiddos and we had AMAZING weather!!

That night we stopped at Grandpa Hodges' friends' house from childhood. He lives in Laguna Beach in an amazing house!!! He grilled us up some buffalo steaks and they were wonderful hosts. Jeff's eyeballs were wide open the whole time soaking in the incredible house/amenities/cars! The kids didn't have a great time- they were exhausted from Legoland and they were terrified of these HUGE dogs that they had. The funniest part of the night was when their live in 'help' asked me how much 'help' I have at home! It was also Grandpa Hodges' birthday- so we had a cake and ice cream and everyone's night was perfect!
