Liz's Birthday in Galveston

My birthday happened to fall on Good Friday this year. So I splurged and took a day off of work! Jeff went into work for a little bit while I attempted to sleep in (I am officially an old person because I can't sleep in pass 7:30 anymore.) Then we went and had lunch at Black Walnut Cafe and were on our way to Moody Gardens. We went to the Aquarium Pyramid, which is definitely my favorite of all the pyramids. I just love watching the penguins, sea lions, and sea turtles!


I talked Jeff into seeing a 3-D imax movie called "Wild Ocean." It was very educational and I really enjoyed it. Jeff wasn't keen on the glasses, or me taking pictures of the glasses :) It almost made me quit my job and go back to pursue my life long dream of being a marine biologist!


Then we went to Laundry's for my birthday dinner. How can you go to Galveston without getting fish? We had a great dinner and better dessert!


That night we relaxed in the hotel's hot tub until we couldn't stand the heat anymore! We went back to the room only to be woken by the fire alarm, how relaxing! Luckily it was a false alarm, but it still made us get out of our pjs :)

Saturday we went and had a big breakfast, and then went to the beach! Sorry, no pictures from the beach because Jeff is rather particular about his camera getting "dirty." We spent half the day on the beach and then second half at the hotel pool (with a swim up bar that Jeff enjoyed!) Needless to say we put on a lot of suncreen and still got sunburn. It was so relaxing it was worth it though :)

Then came home to go to church and volunteer at the nursery on Easter!
