Miles- Month 4

Miles- Month 4

Milestones:
  • He laughed! The absolute cutest belly laugh I have ever heard. Should it worry me that has happened only twice when we took his clothes off :)
  • Miles is a talker :) This little boy seems like the sweet, innocent, quiet one but when he gets excited this boy can coo and make noise.
  • He took his first long car ride- will post more later!
  • Miles went to his first birthday party- Miss Addison's 3 year birthday
  • Miles found his hands and has figured out how to keep them in his mouth. At our house we call this eating his 'knuckle sandwitch'.
  • He discovered he can blow bubbles!!!
  • He is getting better head control everyday- he can hold it up really well with very little support from us.
  • He can sit in his bumbo
  • He can roll on to his right hand side
  • He smiles at his sister :)
  • Miles has grown to love watching football on TV- either college or professional :)
Eating:
We took Miles to another pediatrician to get a second opinion on why he isn't eating a lot. He should be drinking anywhere between 24-32 oz and he drinks around 17-18 oz a day. The second pediatrician did not seemed concerned and said some babies just eat like birds. We decided to try to put him on reflux medication and start him on some high calorie formula. The new formula made him very constipated so our pediatrician told us how we could make their regular formula (Similac Sensitive) high calorie by not adding as much water when we mix it up. Besides how much he eates- Miles is very challenging to feed. He moves his head all over from left to right which results in the bottle falling out of his mouth most of the time. He also keeps his hands very close to his mouth the whole time and quite frequently sneaks a finger in his mouth with the bottle. You have to hold his hands down with one hand and hold the bottle with the other hand. He also is a very LOUD slow drinker. He moans and groans the whole time he is eating. I love that he has such personality even when he is drinking!

Sleeping:
Miles is not a big sleeper- he gets that from his dad. He will give us one 4 hour stretch in the night and then the rest are 3 hour stretches.  We put him down between 9:30 and 10:30 and then he is up for good around 6 or 7. When he naps during the days he is sound asleep but it is usually for only 30-40 minutes if I am lucky. But when he wakes up with such a precious little smile on his face all I can think is I am glad he is awake so I can spend more time with him! He is still sleeping in his crib in his boppy. We are still swaddling him

Playtime:
Miles is SO much fun to play with! He loves being stimulated and will follow any object I put in front of him. Of course his favorite object to follow is his daddy :) He is getting more patient with tummy time and his almost able to push up by himself. He still enjoys spending time on his rainforest mat- I hear the songs it plays in my sleep! He has recently started like being held out so he can watch everything going on- he does not like being cradled like a little baby because he is a big boy! He also loves sitting in his bouncer because he has figured out if he kicks his legs the bouncer moves! Anything makes this man happy and I LOVE that about him!

This boy LOVES being naked!

I dressed him up as Mallory to see if anyone noticed- Dad sure did!

Loves starting out the window in the car
