Eating
Mallory is still not a huge eater but she is still adventurous and tries food! I keep reminding myself that I don't eat a large quantity of food- so why should I stress about them eating a lot? Her current favorite is strawberries and macaroni and cheese AND of course anything sweet! She has also been introduced to the wonderful world of fruit snacks and asks for those at least 3 times a day! She is great at drinking her water, milk or water down orange juice. She as well as Miles LOVES eating crushed ice and can eat that for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She is challenging to take out to eat because she refuses to sit in her high chair and wants to sit in a big chair all by herself- which tends to make a scene. Mallory is always Drama with a capital D no matter where we go :)
Sleeping
Mallory is still my little sleeping princess :) She goes down to sleep between 9 and 10 everynight and wakes up around 9 every morning and when she wakes up in the morning she is my little snuggly baby! When she wakes up she is the happiest little thing and she is extra clingy- so I take advantage of the snuggly time! Nap time is around 1:00 and we have a routine of giving Miles a hug, turning on the sound machine, giving her a kiss, she lays down on her pillow, turns her TV on, I cover her with her blanket and she starts twirling the ties on her bumper util she falls asleep. At bedtime we FINALLY got rid of the bottles so we put them in bed with us, read a book, watch an episode of Micky Mouse Club House and snuggle until they fall asleep. Then after we lay with them for about 30 minutes after they fall asleep- Jeff picks them up and places them in their cribs :) Mallory hasn't been sleeping through the night consistently- she is very sneaky and knows that if she hollers for a while then Daddy goes and gets her and she sleeps on her own pillow in between us in bed. She then lays down pulls the covers up to her neck and quickly falls back asleep. It usually ends up being a long night for us of her consistent arm flapping in our face and her random outburst of talking in her sleep. And oh her hair in the morning..... her hair :)
Playtime
Mallory is ALL girl! She loves her baby dolls, her doll house and she LOVES to share. If she is doing something she really likes (riding a rocker or playing with a toy) she will stop in the middle of playing it and say "Share" then she says "Miles turn" and passes it on to him- seriously makes my heart melt! It is amazing seeing how motherly she is with Miles and with her baby dolls. She always wants to change the babies' diaper, feed them the bottle and rock them back and forth. I guess that means we are doing something right if she can mimic what we do to take care of a baby :) We also hit a very big milestone in that she got her toe nail and fingernails painted for the first time. Anna did it while she was in town and it was amazing to watch because it was like Mallory had done it before! She stayed still, spread her fingers and toes, and said 'side' when we were done with one side to let us know to do the other. She also has a VERY sweet brother who blew on her wet nails for her! The funniest though was when she tried to walk she did like a robot because she was afraid of ruining the painting hahaha! Mallory is extremely bright and uses her wide vocabulary to her advantage. She has a tendency to blame Miles for everything- if she pooped and I go get a new diaper she says 'Miles pooped'- if she spills her cherrios she says 'Miles mess'- if Miles starts crying she says 'Miles nap'- poor Miles he doesn't know what hit him :) She also knows that throwing the word 'please' on to anything gets Jeff and I everytime- 'More ice cream please' 'Swing you please' 'Walk Mila please' are some of her 3 word strings she puts together. She is also very aware of other kids now and her favorite is her best friend "Ada" (Addison) and our neighbors Emma and Julia. She always asks where they all are and she has learned now when they are at school. Mallory also is obessesed with the color pink now! She will only wear pink clothes, she picks the pink crayon, she must wear her pink shoes, she must have her pink paci, and she wants her pink scooter. Mallory is the sassiest, cutest, smartest little girl EVER and I love her with my whole heart and then some!!!!
