June 2015 Target pharmacy announced that it was going to be bought out by CVS pharmacy. It was horrible news because no one wants to work for CVS and we knew big change was going to come with it. December 2015 the transaction actually took place and I was officially a CVS employee :( They then let us know that in May 2017 all part time pharmacists would loose their benefits that Target had provided for us. So we knew as a family that my time with CVS was limited because the main reason I work is to provide the family for benefits. So I decided to quit before flu shot season came around. This was one of the HARDEST decisions I ever made because I had been with Target for almost 5 years and my patients were like family to me. I knew all of their family stories and they knew mine. It truly was such a blessing to be able to get to know all of my patients over the years. Target pharmacy was a gem...... CVS pharmacy was a bust...... but bottom line is that I was going to miss my patients- but I was also so EXCITED to be able to spend the weekends with my precious family!
