Meet Blackie and Goldie

Our last ditch attempt to get the kids to stay in their bed was to get them a fish tank for their room. Aunt Eree happened to be visiting while we were getting it ready for our new family members :) I made the mistake of asking the kids what colored gravel they wanted- hence the half blue and half pink gravel tank.

I decided to take them to go pick out their new fish the afternoon after their first day of school. The rule was they could pick out any fish they wanted but it had to be 1 dollar or under :) Mallory wanted a pink fish so the closest we could find was an orange fish. Miles decided he wanted an all black fish. We fittingly named the "Blackie" and "Goldie." We put a big princess castle on the pink side and a big shark on the blue side!

We then got a funny surprise that about a week after we got them Goldie ended up having babies! Mallory had some luck picking out a pregnant fish haha! The kids love the babies though and they have been a great addition to our fish family :)
