Halloween decorations and activities start in the Mazzolini house September 1st! The kids were SO excited for it this year as they had decided during the summer (and had stuck to their decisions) that they wanted to be Snow White and a penguin for Halloween! For the first year of picking out their own costumes they knocked it out of the park!
About 10 days before Halloween the weather forecast showed ridiculously horrible weather just for Wednesday of Halloween- so I was forced (haha) to take them to a million fall festivals to make sure we got all of our fun in just in case Halloween was a bust. Our schedule: Saturday- school fall festival, Sunday- church fall festival, Monday- another church fall festival, Tuesday- another church fall festival :) The kids LOVED putting their costumes on and LOVED playing games at all the little booths they had set up at all the festivals. Miles was born an athlete to say the least and nailed every game he played! Mallory was adorable and played every game like a delicate little princess :) They are so different in the fact that every time they were told to get candy from a bucket Miles picked up as many pieces as could fit in his hands and Mallory cautiously picked out her one piece ;)
So before Halloween even started the 2 had enough candy to last them a year but nothing compares to going Trick or Treating so we decided to go out and try it despite the wind, rain, lighting, thunder and freezing temperatures. We lasted about 4 houses before our umbrellas got blown inside out! So it rained for about an hour and then we went back out while it was still drizzling- but my kiddos are hard core and will do whatever it takes!
We had an AMAZING time celebrating Halloween for 2 months!!
